ProBook 440 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Product Name: ProBook 440 G2 (Product: P7Q65PA#ACJ)

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64Bit

Other configuration info: i7 5500U/8GB RAM/500GB HDD

Ran BIOS 01.51 Rev.A from HP Product support page, rebooted to complete the BIOS Update and the laptop has been stuck in a boot loop ever since that.

Upon pressing the power button, it comes alive for a few seconds before turning off by itself with a "clicking" sound only to repeat the whole cycle again indefinitely. The display remains off the whole time.

I tried removing the battery, pressing the power button for a minute to get rid of any residual charge. Then i reconnected the battery and the charger cord, pressed the Windows Key along with 'B' and the pressed the Power Button. The display remains off, the Caps Lock key starts flashing/blinking continuously and i can feel the fans running.

I have also tried creating a BIOS recovery USB by following the instructions on HP Support web pages and connecting it prior to pressing the power button while already having the Windows Key and 'B' pressed. This has the same effect, i.e, the display remains off, the Caps Lock key starts flashing/blinking continuously and i can feel the fans running.

Pressing Windows Key and 'V' before turning the laptop on has not worked either. The display remains off.

I am hoping to find a solution on the forum here so that i can get it up and going without having to take it to the HP Store.

Thanks,

KM
