Hey I'm facing a problem with my laptop

It stops while booting and says cooling fans not working properly.

Help please.

There are two possibilities here ...

First, the fan sensor has gone bad and the fan does work, it's just that the sensor does not know that.  If the fan runs loudly when the PC first starts and then goes quiet, it is a sensor problem.  To deal with that, you have to go into the BIOS settings and disable the setting for monitoring the fan.  You press the Esc key while rebooting, and when the HP Startup Menu appears, you select the option for Settings -- but then you have to look around for the fan monitoring setting.

Second, the fan really has failed.  You can tell this by the lack of fan noise when the PC starts up.  IF this is the case, you have no choice other than to have the fan replaced.  You could have it done buy a local laptop repair facility or you can check with HP facilities to see if they will do it and how much they will charge.

Sorry, but this is just a self-help forum staffed mostly by volunteers and we are neither able, nor permitted, to provide any repair estimates or equipment prices.

For this information, you would need to contact an HP Repair or Service Center.

If you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:

If you live outside the U.S., here is a link to HP Service Centers, by Country/Region: https://support.hp.com/in-en/service-center

Good Luck
