RAM upgrade fails

The laptop has 1x 4GB of 2666MHz DDR4 RAM installed. I tried to upgrade this to 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 (2 x 16GB) but it does not boot and gives the unseated RAM flash code (couple of longs and shorts). It is Corsair RAM so not some unbranded junk.

I have tried removing the RAM chips and installing separately - no boot 

I have tried mixing the old RAM with the new RAM (I'd seen a video suggesting that matched RAM was not an issue on these machines) - no boot

I tried forcing a BIOS reset (win+b and power button for 2-3 seconds) - no boot

Any suggestions or do I have a pair of very expensive bookmarks?

Hi:

What was the model Corsair memory you bought?

If it was gaming memory with non-standard timings, it won't work because you can't change any of the memory timing/XMP profiles in the BIOS.

Best to use standard DDR4-2666 MHz memory with the standard timings like the original memory.

that model is the model of memory. I'll reach out to the supplier and see if they will accept a return.

Yes, you can see that the memory timings are different for the memory you bought--18-19-19-

You need memory with the standard DDR4-2666 MHz timings of 19-19-19-

Hopefully, since you bought the memory on Amazon, they will accept returns.

You might be charged a % restocking fee.
