I bought the laptop second hand from my friend who, from what I could tell, melted the APU as it failed to boot and failed to produce a charge when tested,
I replaced the motherboard from the same laptop that had faults in other areas, I upgraded the ram and all was good and working for 6 months,
I had a windows update and went to boot my laptop and was greeted with an error telling me the RTC had lost power.
So I checked the CMOS, the battery was completely fine, I tested the battery itself, no issues. I replaced the CMOS anyway just incase, I did this 3 times to no avail, I don't actually know where the RTC chip itself is to check if that is producing a charge or to check the pins themselves.
The laptop refuses to allow me into the BIOS, it just complains at me about the RTC,
this is the first laptop to date I have seen that refuses to allow a boot without the RTC, rather annoying as it is not required for the laptop to function,
I'm not entirely sure what to do next as I cannot locate the RTC to check it and even if I could, I can't really replace an RTC chip.
