Unlock codes are unique - someone elses code will not work on another machine.

If you receive a 'System Disabled' code after 3 incorrect entries, post back with the code and include any prefix if applicable.

I tried different codes, but I didn’t save the System disabled code. My machine is a G72-250us laptop.
Thanks,

Just enter an incorrect code 3 times and the notebook will give you the current system disabled code - post back with it.

Thank you very much, it solved the problem. But the only question I have is, why would it do that if I had the setting in Security set to clear?

You're welcome :generic:

Unfortunately, I can't give you a definitive answer as to why a power on password suddenly appeared - this behaviour has sometimes been linked to a failing HDD, but often, it just happens out of the blue, then never occurs again.

All the best,
