Hi,

I have just resinstalled Windows 10 from the MS site and reloaded all the HP drivers as mu computer was misfiring badly. I am getting this error too. I have tried manually downloading and installing from the HP website, Downloading it using the HP Support Assistance, downloading it and saving and unpacking it mannually as above with 7-Zip.

I have deleted HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor and then the HP 3D Driveguard and then reinstalled SP81142 using HP Support assistant.

Action Log in HP Support Assistant reports that HP 3D DriveGuard has been installed successfully, Device Manager reports that HP Mobile Data Protection  the device is working properly (Driver Version 7.0.11) and lists Accelerometer.sys and hpdskflt.sys

I still get the error message.

I have searched in C:\Windows for accelerometerdll.DLL and there is nothing there

When I step through the installation (at least part way through" I get multiple file is already there - do you want to ovewrite it" type messages. accelerometerdll.DLL is one of them.

How do I get rid of it, please? Any advice gratefully received.

HP model is 15AR052SA

Thanks

Cheers

Simon

This could be an HP mobile data protection sensor version error.

See the following link to the Microsoft Update Catalog.

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=hp+mobile+data+protection+sensor

Download and install the apropriate version that matches what you have installed.

@FifthTimeLucky

Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, install the 3D DriveGuard version on the following link.

Thanks for the fast reply.

I clicked on your link but it just opened up a tab in Edge which then collapsed without doing anything. I dug around on the HP Website and found a link to SP83846 on this link.

Ran that, and no message!! System Device says that the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor is working normally so I guess I need to assume that it now is. (Not sure how to test it other than dropping the laptop!)

Thanks for your help!

THanks for your fast reply. I tried the sp83846.exe solution first and this has appeared to work so I didn't try this one - however I appreciate your thoughts!
