I have HP Notebook - 15-ay503tu with 1TB HDD.

I upgraded it with 256 GB SSD with 1TB HDD in the CD-ROM slot using a optical drive caddy.
My problem now is that the drive(whether HDD or SSD) whichever is in optical drive caddy ,  is sometimes shown in BIOS as well as MY COMPUTER.

But 90% of the times the drive in optical caddy does not show.
Thank you in advance and please provide some insight in this.

Normally the SATA controller for the ODD is slower than normal SATA for HDD therefore this could cause the hit and miss problem. Why not upgrade SSD to 2TB and use HDD as an external drive ? Much much better.

Regards.

Thanks for the reply.

I am using the SSD to boot up faster and load applications faster.

Also, money issues with 2TB SSD 😕
