Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop has developed a recurring pattern: after a clean Windows install, it works fine for a couple of months, then starts crashing/shutting down unexpectedly during normal use. After that, it gets stuck in a boot loop — Automatic Repair fails with error 0xc0000001, and it just keeps looping through boot attempts without loading Windows.

What I’ve already tried:

• bootrec /fixmbr, /fixboot, /rebuildbcd — fixboot initially failed with “Access is denied”
• Fixed that by assigning a drive letter to the EFI partition via diskpart and rebuilding boot files manually with bcdboot D:\Windows /s S: /f UEFI — it reported “Boot files successfully created”
• Still hits the Recovery screen with error 0xc0000001 afterward
• Ran HP’s built-in Hardware Diagnostics — both Memory Test and Storage Test passed
• This is not the first time — this exact cycle (works for months, then crash loop) has happened multiple times, each time requiring a full reformat/reinstall, troubleshoot methods don’t work.

make sure you have the latest bios.Aug 6, 2026

You mentioned a clean windows install:  Was that the cloud factory restore?

If not, you might consider using that win11 restore tool

There are a number of firmware upgrades for different SSD drives.  Possibly the problem  is the disk firmware.  Go here and select the latest windows

Samsung and SanDisk firmware updates are available.

This problem could be heat related.
