I just updated my HP laptop. When I opened it this morning it said it needed a reset. I restarted it and now it is stuck in a cycle of the reset screen and the automatic repair screen. I've tried turning it off and turning it back on.

Hi @JAlexis,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're mentioning the "HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 15" in the context of repair and restart screen. If you're facing issues with your laptop and need assistance with repair or restarting, here are some steps you can follow.
Restarting the Laptop:
- If your laptop is unresponsive or frozen, you can force restart it by holding down the power button for about 10-15 seconds until it turns off.
- If you're experiencing software issues, a simple restart might help resolve them. Click on the "Start" menu, then select "Power" and choose "Restart."
Repairing Common Software Issues.
- Startup Repair: If your laptop is having trouble booting up, you can try the built-in Startup Repair tool in Windows. Restart your laptop and as it boots up, repeatedly press the "F8" key or "F11" key (or any key that your laptop's manual suggests) to access the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there, select "Repair Your Computer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
- System Restore: If your laptop was working fine before but is now facing issues, you can try a System Restore to a point when your laptop was functioning properly. To do this, search for "System Restore" in the Start menu, open the tool, and follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier state.
- Safe Mode: Booting your laptop into Safe Mode can help identify if a third-party application is causing issues. To do this, restart your laptop and press the "F8" key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears. Select "Safe Mode" and see if your laptop operates normally in this mode.
- Check for Updates: Ensure that your laptop's operating system and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, issues can arise due to outdated software. Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" and check for updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
