My pavilion will not boot. When I attempt to power the laptop, I receive a black screen with the error "Boot Device Not Found." There is an additional error of "Hard Disk (3F0)."
I have attempted to boot from a Windows Recovery USB but I get an error message saying that the selected device failed to boot. Also, when I force restart from this screen, I get a CMOS checksum invalid error with error code 502. Finally, I have noticed in the BIOS utility that the system clock is wrong. This has led me to conclude that the CMOS battery has died and this may be the source of my boot problems. Where is the CMOS battery? Is it on the underside of the motherboard? Does it take a 2032 battery? Any help would be appreciated, my Googling skills have failed me.

Realize that while opening the laptop does not, and and of itself, void the factory warranty, if you damage anything in the process, THAT will void the warranty and you would have to pay dearly to have that fixed.
Also, while I am providing you a YouTube link, this is NOT official support from HP, and you follow those instructions at your own risk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMeo6MLdZW0
This IS a risky activity, and if you're NOT experienced in doing this kind of thing, you are better off taking the laptop to a repair facility and paying them to do this for you.
