Hi @AFFAN6,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your laptop is showing the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI screen every time you turn it on, it may indicate an issue with the system's boot configuration or an automatic diagnostic check triggered by a detected hardware problem. Given that the internal keyboard is not functioning and you're using an external one, this could be related to the issue.

Here's what you can try to resolve the problem:

1. Check Boot Order in BIOS/UEFI:

  • Restart your laptop and press the ESC, F2, F10, or DEL key (depending on your HP model) to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • Check the boot order and ensure that the hard drive with your operating system is set as the primary boot device.
  • Save the changes and exit.

2. Disable Diagnostics Boot in BIOS/UEFI:

  • In the BIOS/UEFI settings, look for an option related to "Diagnostics Boot" or "POST Diagnostics".
  • Disable this option if enabled, then save and exit.

3. Run Diagnostics to Check Keyboard:

  • Since the diagnostics screen is already appearing, use it to run a test on the keyboard.
  • This can help confirm if the keyboard has a hardware fault.

4. Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • In the BIOS/UEFI, you can try resetting settings to default.
  • Look for an option like "Load Default Settings" or "Reset BIOS to Default" and select it.

5. Check Keyboard Connection:

  • If you're comfortable with laptop hardware, you can try reseating the internal keyboard's connection inside the laptop.
  • Sometimes, a loose or disconnected ribbon cable can cause the keyboard to fail.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @AFFAN6,

6. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:

  • Even though the keyboard isn't functioning, check in Device Manager for any driver issues or reinstall the keyboard drivers.
  • Right-click the Start button, select "Device Manager", expand "Keyboards", and see if there are any issues indicated.

7. Check for Stuck Keys or Short-Circuits:

  • If any key on the internal keyboard is stuck or there’s a short circuit, it could cause startup issues.
  • Check the keyboard physically for stuck keys.

If he problem persists, and the diagnostics do not identify any faults outside the keyboard, it might be best to get the laptop serviced, especially if a keyboard replacement is needed.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
