I am experiencing the same problem BUT not only in sleep mode.
My computer is not shutting down in that the light remains on, but pressing it does nothing (it is frozen)
Please advise how I can restore/reboot when this occurs.
Thank you

Push and HOLD the power button until the light goes off. Then push again to restart. I have had to do it more times in the last 5 days than in the entire last year... sigh. HP out of business?

Seriously HP, I know there will be bugs with a Windows update, but this is one that should be handled by now. How many days are we at now? People use your computers for work. This is effecting our daily lives. Losing customers by the minute...
At the very least, release a statement about it to give us some hope here. This is obviously not a small group of people who are dealing with this. If you are a lurker in this thread and have yet to join and post, I invite you to do so now. Something needs to get their attention. Thank you and goodnight.

I too have been having the issues described in this thread. No issues with my Envy 15 until I upgraded to Windows 10 a few days ago. I have had intermittent success with numerous attempts at resolving this sleep problem, though no "solution" has lasted more than a few hours. I've combed Event Viewer, performed countless driver uninstalls/reinstalls, and nothing seems to lead anywhere.
I agree with the general consensus on here that a driver update (or several) is needed, and very likely something Intel related. Here's to hoping for a fix in the very near future. On the plus side, 3 new Win 10 compatible drivers were posted today (Aug 3rd) for my model, though none of them did the trick.

There are numeorus forums where others are experiencing the same problems.
For those who are not aware and may find it useful:

Besides the intel display driver that wouldn't fix it for me I also updated through device manager the following items:
realtek audio adapter
broadcom wifi adapter
realtek PCIe FE family controller (whatever that is)
I just tried everything in device manager for new drivers. I've been testing a while after setting power options to sleep again (had that turned of) and all seems to be working fine again. Even halfway between this message closing the lid and waking it up worked fine.
It seems very strange that those drivers only update when one uses device manager to do so but I'm glad I tried.
So my recomendation to all of you is to try to update EVERY device you can in device manager and report back here if that fixed it for you but be sure to test a while before reporting it works.
