@fasst wrote:As reported in my earlier posts sleep mode regarding my updated Win10 installation also works on my clean install of Win10 with the driver mentioned and the hybrid sleep mode set to Yes both on battery and netpower.
I'll stick with the clean install and take the job installing all my apps on this fresh copy.
This is definitely an option and I may personally go this way if things do not get resolved by HP/MS soon. However, this is probably a daunting task for most people who are not tech savvy. A recommendation for those who want to do this: Have access to another working computer as you may need to Google various things to help you through the process. The drivers should be resident in the Win10 install but I have seen the OS miss a few things. So, before you attempt the clean Win10 install be aware -- you cannot go backward once you start it. No going back to 8.1 (unless you have restore discs).

At least on my Windows 10 Elitebook 840 G1 upgraded from Win8.1.
This morning I got an upgrade om Windows update and the Intel HD Graphics card. They reverted the driver back to 10.18.15.4248 with the date of 29.06.2015.
That didn't solved the problem alone. Same symptoms as before. But then I changed the the powerplan and the hybrid sleep mode to Yes on both battery and netpower.
And closing the lid, and fn-F3 buttons works 🙂 Wakes up from sleep mode, fast.
PS. For those who have problems with the Synaptic Fingerprint driver it also works with Windows Hello, or Simplepass.
With the Synaptic FP Sensor (WBF) (PID=003f) and Simplepass ver. 8.00.57 Simplepass works.
If I uninstall Simplepass Windows Hello biometric aslo works.
Could you please post your complete power plan details?

i think it is time I call HP. My wife often comments that I have the ability to get people to do what they do not want to do. I do not expect anything so I doubt I will be disappointed. However, I will tell them -- in very clear terms -- that their silence on this matter is completely unacceptable and they have probably lost a countless number of future customers as a result. I fail to understand WHY nothing official has come from HP. To me, that is unacceptable. I suspect I am not alone in this feeling.
I am looking at a new laptop in the next few weeks. My first website that I browsed was Lenovo. I have upgraded TWO Lenovo's at work for faculty members and they were painless and they work as they should. No issues, no sleep issues, no power issues. They just work.

This is completely unacceptable !!
I called HP and they told my laptop is very knew and they dont know about it. I bought mine from USA, and i reside in India.

A clean install didn't solve anything for me, still the same problem. Just for the record, with clean install I really mean clean, I burned an ISO from the Windows 10 media creation tool and I deleted all the partitions, then I reinstalled.

I wouldn't expect that to resolve things, to be honest. That would not be where I would look first. Let's consider the facts:
1. The system shut down and went to sleep and hibernate mode under Win8.1.
2. The system failed to do #1 AFTER upgrading to Win10. Sometimes worked, but mostly, it didn't.
3. Thus, the only logical conclusion is that the issue is tied to a Win10 update of a driver, system file/driver or BIOS irregularity that did not exist under Win8.1.
A clean install will not change that. Something inside Win10 is not playing "nice-nice" with something else. From what I have read, clean installs are having mixed reviews (and I am not going to invest the time needed to do something that is not fail-safe).
Again, I have said this before...the only resolution must come from HP/MS. That's it. Patience is key here. I know the frustration (I am living in this nightmare as well) BUT changing this, spending time on that, doing clean installs, changing drivers, adjusting advanced power settings, etc. is not going to resolve it.
By the way, while I am holding court here on the forum....please, people, not only is it helpful to know the issue you are having, it is also helpful, and indeed, necessary that you post the model of your system. Not everyone here has the same laptop/desktop model. Mine is an HP Pavillion 15 Notebook (I also have an HP Pavillion DV-7 running Win7). So, along with your issue, post the type of machine.

Agree.
While you waiting, backup all your important files to another harddrive, just incase something happend to your harddrive because of hard shutdown

I too am having the same problem (HP Pavilion 15)
But I did discover that "sometimes", if I close out of the brower completely (to the desktop) and close my laptop, it usually comes back to the desktop. If I don't close out the brower completely, it never wakes up and when I restart, login, and go into the brower, it always shows that "chrome" didn not shut down properly.
Not the solution, but definitely helps somewhat. It's real pain to constantly hold the power button down and reboot every time I leave the laptop.
