Hi All,

I am having an issue not very similar to that. I use HP pavilion g6 Series, 32-bits. I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 on last Friday night. It showed me that the upgrade was Successful. A blue screen appeared with a dialog box to type in my login username & password. When I type in the username & password nothing happens after I have press the ENTER key. This is to say I cannot even login into my laptop again. Even if I clicked on RESTART, SLEEP or SHUTDOWN none of these works. I regretted upgrading to Windows 10. I cannot do anything my Laptop any longer since I cannot login. Pls, does anyone know why I can overcome this problem so as to enable me use my laptop again. Even if returning back to Windows 7 can solve this problem then I am ready. I really need help over this.

Just relax man, it'll be solved. Do you think doesn't have any issues? Or do you think that Linux is bug-free and stable and all? Keep calm and wait patiently. There are enough people who said that a fix from HP or Microsoft will be needed. Don't waste any more time, it will be all right. :catwink:

I already accepted that and re-installed Win 8.1 thinking I'll wait for another 2-3 months until Win 10 becomes stable. But now Win 8.1 is also causing trouble. Its just a bad day I guess.

Yes, you upgrade to F.42

I've reverted back to 8.1, upgraded to F.42. My 8.1 is now a mess, I get errors about missing system files and couldn't install the HP Support software. Am going to try going back to 10 next

OK, upgraded to F.42 successfully. But i don't expect much from it.

Upgrade it directly from windows 10 and i'll stick to windows 10.

I'll wait for 2 - 3 days to get know the results.

Having low expectations usually results in having less disappointment. 🙂

Update: my problem is solved .tested for a whole day.Guys i have gone into sleep mode soo many time since i reverted my intel hd graphics drivers back to 10.18.15.4256.i think those whose problem is solved are on the same driver version i.e. 10.18.15.4256.please revert back and update the threat.i have already mentioned the steps i have gone through at page #44.try it and update the form.i strongly believe its the solution.

PS: also i think there is no need to install windows 10 again .its just a waste of time.its the driver issue not windows 10 issue.

Nice, did you use the driver that is available on the HP support site? Because if I use that driver it says that it's not compatible with my notebook xD

No they did't work.i tried installing that but it says my system doesn't meet the meet the minimum requirement.here it is what i did.

-Rolled back to previous intel hd graphic drivers from -device manager -display adapter-right click-select "properties"-drivers-Roll back driver.

following the above mentioned step will give u version 10.18.15.4256 drivers .

2-press windows button + R-type "services.msc"- find windows update and stop it by right click it

this step will disable automatic update to avoid reverting back to the original version i.e. 10.18.15.4248

3-restart your pc.

I would lvoe to see this verified by someone who has already rolled back and got the most recent driver:

1.  Re-enable Windows Update

2.  Get the suspicious driver

3.  Reboot

4.  Attempt to SHUT DOWN then SLEEP then HIBERNATE

If it is working on 4256 and not working on 4248 these steps will confirm it. Of course, I could do it but some of you are already one-step ahead so if there is a brave soul out there...:)
