Update: my problem is solved .tested for a whole day.Guys i have gone into sleep mode soo many time since i reverted my intel hd graphics drivers back to 10.18.15.4256.i think those whose problem is solved are on the same driver version i.e. 10.18.15.4256.please revert back and update the threat.i have already mentioned the steps i have gone through at page #44.try it and update the form.i strongly believe its the solution.

PS: also i think there is no need to install windows 10 again .its just a waste of time.its the driver issue not windows 10 issue.

Well, for all I know you are right. I did the dance: ->8.1->update bios->10. It appears to be solved! (only been a couple hours but it used to fail much sooner than that)

However, my video driver is 10.18.15.4256, so maybe this was all a very twisted way to roll back the driver!

So, what will happen when my driver auto updates? Guess I'll have to try & see..

I am sure this thread is well read by now and just wanted to share this so I can help resolving...

If I change video memory size in bios to 512 instead of 64 I get unstable again, all the same. On 64 fully stable, 4th day.

I am still running without hotkey support so I change screen brightness from power options... Pain.

I am on the mentioned driver version still I have the issue. I was only able to shutdown successfully before I log in to the Windows. After that it didn't work.

@eldavies u should disable auto update by disabling windows update service .than it will not update and u should update ur bios from hp support center and restart ur laptop to check whether its fixed or not.

The laptop still shutdowns and sleeps fine.My laptop is HP PAVILLION 15.Guys seriously, trust me this is the solution......after reverting to win8.1(IM GOING TO SAY THIS FOR THE LAST BLOODY TIME) Use the Media Creation Tool from microsoft website hell if you are having trouble doing that then just google search "microsoft windows 10 download" and you can download and install it into your computer without burning the iso into a cd or a virtual drive.Dont download from the icon.I think the windows that gets downloaded from the icon gets either corrupted or damaged. (TRY IT! IF YOU HAVE UPDATED BIOS THIS SHOULDNT BE SCARY TO YOU CAUSE UPDATING BIOS IS 10 TIMES MORE RISKIER THAN DOING THIS)

Look what I did: updated BIOS the day before the Windows 10 upgrade. Windows 10 upgrade. Windows 10 clean install. I have this issue. I'm glad that it's fixed for you, but it doesn't work for me.
