The solution still is not working for my old laptop 😕 all my drivers are updated except intels and nvidias forget it im not trying more on that old crap cause i dont really use my old laptop

Oops, you actually did the reverse thing. Its actually update Nvidia and Intel driver as per Windows 10 and install other drivers as per WIndows 8.1 which may be a bit outdated. For me, except for HP wireless button driver, synaptics touchpad, Intel HD and Nvidia, all the remaining drivers I have installed are of Win 8.1 versions(even the Intel Management Engine driver).

Well, I am not an expert, but i figured out this thing about drivers because, upon a clean install of Windows 10, if you dont connect to internet or dont install any drivers except for Nvidia and Intel, you wont find any problems.

Its either, the drivers, which are forcefully causing some unwanted operations, or Windows, which picks up the drivers selectively as its victims and forces it to run some unwanted activity which is preventing our laptops to behave normally while shutting down/restart/sleep 😛 😛 😛

But one thing I hate about Win10 is forcefully updating drivers, even though there are ways to prevent, but it was easy on prior versions of Windows. And the only reason I want to keep Win 10 is that somehow my games like GTA V and Watchdogs are running much smoothly in Win10 than Win 8.1, Except for an old game "Claw" which lags even on win 8.1 but runs smoothly on Win 7.

OK STOP IT YOU TWO

Stop flooding this thread and my email with your "fighting solution".

Sat3rn's way is working

Sibu16's way (maybe) is working

No need to force others to use your solution, just let people choose wich one is the best for them.

And for Sat3rn, my father told me this words

"If u want happiness, give others what u can give but expect nothing from them"

Re4med, i think my solution only seems to be working on Hp Pavilion 15 models like it has worked for you and other pavilion 15 users.Im 100% now that the problem was caused due to the Windows 10 icon. The window 10 the icon downloaded must have had some issues with it(File Corruption).

GUYS DO TRY THE FOLLOWING BUT IT ONLY SEEMS TO BE WORKING ON PAVILLION 15 LAPTOPS(and some envy laptops as well)! More than 6 people have tried My solution it seemed to have worked for them ( although 1 user is unconvinced )

1.Revert back to Windows 8.1 by clicking the notification icon on the bottom right side of your screen and then navigate to All Settings>Update and Recovery>Recovery and then click go on revert to windows 10.

2.Update BIOS from hp websites Driver section. When you arrive at the driver section Click on Identify Your Machine and then after that  !YOU MUST CHANGE OPERATING SYSTEM FROM WINDOWS 10 TO WINDOWS 8.1 THEN DOWNLOAD YOUR BIOS DRIVER!

3.After done with the bios,Download Media Creation Tool From Microsoft website and download X64 bit one.

4.After that execute the media creation tool and it will install fresh Windows 10 on your computer.

5.After you upgraded successfully, check the SLEEP/HIBERNATE/SHUTDOWN options by executing each one of them AFTER 1-2 HOURS.If the laptop sleeps/hibernate/shutdowns than Problem Solved.

I'm at stage 2of this, where I need to update my BIOS. Should I install any other drivers from 8.1? Or just the BIOS? I've wiped my computer back to factory settings (I know I didn't need to but I've messed around with god knows what over the last couple of weeks I felt happier doing it from a clean install).
I was planning on running all the Windows updates, then update the BIOS, then any other drivers that it suggests, then downloading through the creation tool. Is that right?

[EDIT]: Well apparently there are no Windows updates available (surprisingly), but my BIOS is now up to date at F.42, instead of F.34 which it was originally when I was on W10.

Keeping my fingers crossed that reverting to the old Realtek High Definition Audio driver has resolved the sleep/shutdown issue... but in the meantime, I've resolved the issue with the mouse settings not saving across sessions!

1. Download version 18 of the driver and software: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp68001-68500/sp68198.exe

2. Uninstall version 19 of the driver and software (listed under Synaptics SMBus TouchPad in Device Manager and under HP Control Zone/Synaptics Incorporated in Control Panel > Programs and Features).

3. Restart your computer.

4. Install version 18 of the driver and software.

Voila!  Version 19 does not appear to save settings properly (in Windows 10 anyway), but version 18 works like a charm!

HP support just called me to tell to contact Microsoft for this isssue. I guess the fed/gave up. So I am on my own now and all I have is you guys! 🙂

Right now, I am downgrading my Realtek driver and I have 6.0.1.7358, dated 10/6/2014. From Windows 8.1 drivers.

To be frank, even though I got my problem solved by downgradin Realtek Audio driver on my HP Envy, it may be because, the other drivers which I installed were of Windows 8.1. I am working on my ex-roomie's HP pavillion laptop at the same time where he installed all drivers as per Windows 10. For me, it was Realtek Audio, but surprisingly for him, it was Intel Management Engine, Rapid Storage, Intel Chipset and the Realtek driver.

Thats is why I am recommending to install Windows 8.1 drivers instead of Windows 10 drivers. It looks like W10 platform is quite unstable for Win 10 drivers, but try to install Windows 8.1 drivers in Windows 10 as far as possible.

I downgraded the Realtek Audio Driver to the 8.1 version, but I still see it in the powercfg -requests command... And the issue is still there. Think that I'll try downgrading to 8.1 some other drivers and see if that works.
