HP Laptop - 17-by3053cl
Microsoft Windows 11

I have this laptop.

Originally came with windows 10 but upgraded to windows 11.

Recently, it has an issue.

Appears to boot up ok.

But when I enter pin on login screen it just goes black.

I see cursor move and can ctrl-alt-del to get a screen.

I have tried a few things to correct.

I tried to roll back to earliest restore point.

I got an error on that.

I also tried sfc /scannow.

It shows a number of files corrupted and that they were fixed.

But reboot does help.

Finally gave up and figured I would would need reinstall Win 10.

I downloaded the Cloud Recovery App to another HP PC.

Installed and then got the following error (I did run as admin):

Error 0xC00412

Does anyone have any other ideas outside of Cloud Recovery?

And if my only option is cloud recovery, what is this error and how do I correct?

I had to end up doing the PC reset.

I was unable to perform a few of the options (updating drivers for example) because I could not get windows to completely boot.

Would not come up in safe mode.

Thanks
