Hi @LindaAB-1
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP laptop 15s-eq1096AU unexpectedly shut down and now won’t turn on. Here are some steps you can try to get it working again:
Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the adapter and try turning the laptop on.
Check for Power Indicators
- Look for any blinking lights near the power button or charging port.
- If the charging LED blinks, it may indicate a battery failure.
Try a BIOS Reset
- Press and hold Win + B, then press the power button for a few seconds.
- If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the instructions.
Test with Battery and Adapter Separately
- If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out and try powering on with just the adapter.
- If the battery is non-removable, leave the laptop plugged in for 30 minutes before attempting to turn it on.
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
- If the laptop powers on but doesn’t boot, press Esc repeatedly during startup.
- Select F2 for HP Diagnostics and run a Battery Test.
