Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that your computer is stuck on "Getting windows ready do not turn off computer", you have run a system test and restarted your computer, but the issue persists, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Is your computer connected to the internet?
May I know the exact product number of your computer? Click here. Please do not share the serial number of your computer.
Recommend you do a power reset on the computer.
Disconnect any devices connected to your computer.
If you have any USB or DVD in the computer, please disconnect it.
Perform a power reset on the computer. Click here for assistance.
Disconnect the adapter, remove the battery (if it can be removed)
Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain the static in the computer.
Connect the adapter and battery to the computer.
Turn the computer ON and keep tapping F11or ESC repeatedly on startup.
Enter recovery manager.
Select Troubleshoot and then Advanced and start Startup Repair.
If the issue persists, try to restart your computer without the computer connected to the internet.

Same problem here and I've found no solution. A restart takes about 1 1/2 hours and builds a log file that about overwhelms my hard drive. I've done the power reset, restored, scanned disk (all ok), troubleshooted ... no help!
