I have a HP-15 Notebook and Microsoft says my Secure Boot Certificate has expired. I have tried many options to try and resolve but all has failed. My warranty has expired so a can't even talk to a live HP agent to see if an update is available. Any suggestions!

What is the exact model or the product ID of your PC?

Your system may have a BIOS update to fix the expired certificate.

Some older HP models no longer receive BIOS updates. In that case:

  • The warning may remain.
  • The computer can often continue to function normally.
  • Microsoft may eventually provide an alternative update path if the firmware supports it.

Could you tell me:

  • The full model number of your HP 15 Notebook (for example, 15-dy2093dx or 15-ac156tu)?
  • Is this running Windows 10 or Windows 11?
  • What is the exact wording of the message? If possible, the complete text would help determine whether it is referring to the Secure Boot DB, KEK, PK, or another certificate.

Or you could go here and let this AI bot help you, possibly better than I can.
