HP ProBook 650 G4 Notebook PC
Hello HP Support,

My name is Nemanja and I recently received an HP laptop as a gift. Unfortunately, I do not have any purchase receipt or invoice for it.

I am experiencing a problem with Secure Boot and the BIOS:
• The current Windows does not boot, and I cannot install a new Windows from USB.
• When I try to boot from external media, I get the error: “Selected boot image did not authenticate”.
• I tried to disable Secure Boot or change the boot order, but the BIOS is locked with a password.
• I also removed the CMOS battery to reset it, but the password remained.

At this point, the laptop is unusable.
Could you please help me with resetting the BIOS password or provide instructions for unlocking it?
I can provide the laptop’s serial number if required.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Best regards,
Nemanja

Hello @conepd
Unfortunately there isn't any way to remove the BIOS password without replacing the motherboard. For more details - HP Business PCs - Forgotten or lost BIOS password | HP® Support

I am an HP Employee. Although I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
