HP OmniBook X Flip 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop Next Gen AI PC 16-cc0000 (C3XT3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I am having the issue of updating the security system. The update is 2026-08 Security Update (KB5121003) (26200.9168). I am able to download it but when my laptop restarts to install it, it gets stuck on the loading HP black screen at start up. It shows that everything was downloaded but gets stuck when it is supposed to be starting back up.

Do this:

  1. Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)
  2. Power on the laptop.
  3. As soon as you see the HP logo, hold the power button to force it off.
  4. Repeat this 2–3 times. On the next boot, Windows should show “Preparing Automatic Repair” and then the blue recovery screen.
  5. Choose Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Uninstall updates.
  6. Select Uninstall latest quality update (this is KB5121003, not a feature update).
  7. Confirm and let it complete, then choose Continue to Windows 11. (If uninstalling update doesn't work then boot into recovery again and do point in restore or system restore dated before you did that update.

After booting, first backup your important data. Then try to repair system by reinstalling same version. It preserve files, data but still backup for worst care. To do it, follow this link:

After repair, run windows update and check if all updates get installed properly.
