Ask at your local police station.

If they have access to a database of stolen goods for a large enough area, then they might be able to tell you.

Of course, if it is marked as stolen, they might want to take it from you.

If you receive any other type of advice, be careful.

Anyone who asks for you private information might have reasons other than being helpful.
