Product: Spectre 13-4100 x360
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP
My laptop is malfunctioning such that the shift key is virtually stuck, ie when I go to type in numbers it writes the symbols corresponding to SHIFT+number (for example, 3 is only written as #, etc). I can't get into the laptop to troubleshoot at all since my password is exclusively numbers and I can't type in the numbers without them being changed to symbols. What can I do to fix this? I am completely stuck on the login screen and can't use the computer at all unless this problem gets fixed.

You might try the hard reset as suggested and explained in this post:
hp laptop keyboard has stopped working.
And here's an HP article on Incorrect Characters are Displayed when Using Keyboard
One of these might help.
Thanks for using the forum!
