Hi,
This afternoon my laptop opened with a black screen with "Boot Device Not Found" error instead of booting up Ubuntu (recent switch from Windows 10) . I pressed F2 to run system diagnostics. It passed Memory check but failed on the Hardware check. Running Short DST gave the following error code:
GTV6MD-87E9K1-MFPX7G-60VH03
I googled the error code but didn't find any results, should I have to replace my hard disk with a new one? Or is there any other fix?

Hi,
The failure id indicates that the drive has failed the short test and needs to be replaced. You can try to recover data from the drive by using a USB to SATA adapter replacing internally in a Desktop.
You will need to replace the drive with a new 2.5" SATA3 HDD or SSD of your preferred brand.
On page 32 of the service manual you can see the steps to upgrade the drive:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05228250
While you are in there you could check if the M2 slot is present on the motherboard for a possible future upgrade.
Hope it helps,
David
