HP Pavilion dv3-4302ea Entertainment Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been unable to start up my laptop so I ran several diagnostics tests and the Short DST failed with the failure ID: OU71WW-5NKA89-XD6V5G-60TE03.

I realise my laptop is very old but wanted to know if there is anything I can do to fix this error/failure - I am keen to get a reasonable amount of material off the laptop before it gives up the ghost!!

Sadly to say: Most of the time the 24 char disk failure id indicates the HDD is failing and it needs to be replaced.. Is it still under warranty ? If NOT, you have to replace yourself then rebuild your machine.

For (original) Windows 7 and Windows 10. Please use Cloud Recovery tool:

               https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06162205

But your machine runs Windows 10 now therefore the best option is to use the following guide to do a clean install Windows 10

           https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

During the installation process if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and then automatically activate once you are connected to the internet using the key embedded in BIOS of your machine.

Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page. Normally few Windows 10 updates can install nearly all drivers for you.

Regards.
