Hello, I have an HP Laptop, model HP Chromebook x360 14c-cc0013dx.  It was working fine, then it wouldn’t power on.  The power light blinks 1 time white light, then no light for 6 or 8 seconds.  Can’t hard reset or boot.  No power to screen on battery or plugged in.  No removable battery.  Any ideas?

Hi @Xsatc

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Chromebook x360 14c-cc0013dx is experiencing a hardware-related issue. The single power light blink often indicates a problem with the power supply, battery, or internal components.

Here are some steps you can try:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the charger and remove any external devices (USB drives, peripherals, etc.).
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the charger and try turning on the Chromebook.

Check the Charger and Cable:

  • Inspect the charger and cable for visible damage.
  • Test the charger on another compatible device to ensure it’s functioning properly.
  • If possible, try using a different charger to rule out issues with the current one.

Inspect the Power Port:

  • Check the Chromebook’s charging port for dust, debris, or damage.
  • Clean the port gently with a soft brush or compressed air.

Reset the Battery:

  • Since the battery is non-removable, look for a small pinhole reset button near the bottom or sides of the Chromebook.
  • Use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds.

Run Diagnostics:

  • If the Chromebook powers on but doesn’t boot normally, press Esc + Refresh + Power to access recovery mode.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to run diagnostics or perform a system recovery.

None of this solved my problem.  The battery is now dead (no more flashing power button light), and the laptop is plugged in (orange light beside the power port), but the laptop will still not power on.  There is also no reset pinhole as mentioned on this model.
