Not 100% Windows 2004 update caused the slow boot up ,but I never noticed it before that update. I normally leave my computer on and it will do updates and restart on it's own. The other day It completed a update and I went ahead and restarted. I noticed restarting/shutdown and turning back on now takes like 10-12 minutes. Before it would maybe be like 2-3 minutes. Any idea on why it's taking this long? I tried little things like turning on/off "Fast Startup" in power settings ,but nothing has helped.

Will these steps mess with my files and programs. I think I've done that in the past ,but can't remember. I have a already ran  sfc /scannow  and came back fine.

@AFWS I suggest you create a new user account and let me know if that helps,

If not, you may want to use a system restore to fix the issue.

Keep me posted.
