HP 15-f010dx Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I’ve had this laptop for a long time now, but it’s been put away for a few years after I got a Smart Hard Disk error and didn’t know how to fix it. I am looking around now for some help, I do not want to lose any of the pictures and videos I have on there, so I’m hoping maybe I can back up my hard drive some how? Or have it to go get fixed and have everything transferred over. My best guess is that it overheated because I always used to try to run beefy games using my poor i3 processor lol.

Right when I start it up, the Smart Hard Disk error screen pops up. I ran a quick test and a long DST test, both instantly coming up with a Hard Drive issue.
The failure ID is : 9QF084-7B9A7E-MFPV7F-61A703

My computer info is -

Model- HP 15 Notebook PC

Product ID- J9M23UA#ABA

Processor- Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4010U CPU @ 1.70GHz

Processor Speed- 1600MHz

Memory Size- 4096 MB Ram

Hard drive info-

Type- ATA

Model- ST500LT012-1DG142

Please let me know if there’s anything I can do on my end. I’ll probably have to go get it fixed but I don’t know where to begin. I really don’t want to lose what’s on this laptop, lots of old memories. If anyone can drop me a hp customer service cell number as well that would be great. Thank you

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

After reading your post I did decode the failure ID and it refers to Hard Disk 1 Full Test Failure.
As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
