HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae012dx (product# 2LU95UA) does NOT power-up. Pressing the power button does NOT result in any light or beeps. No power led light (plugging power cable into either of the USB-C ports). I.e. no signs of any kind of life.
I've read through the forums what I could find. None helped. E.g. holding the power button pressed for 15+ seconds with and without power cable; with and without battery cable plugged. no sign of life.
It seems to be a failure in the power management circuitry.
QUESTIONS please:
- is there anything else to try?
- Is there a way to order HP to do the repair? (the laptop is out of warranty. I.e. I will pay). HP.com offers only $15/mo subscription for phone help. In my case, it is a basic hardware issue, and assistance over phone does not seem relevant.
HP.com lists BestBuy stores as "authorized repair centers". However, my local BestBuy informed me they do not deal with hardware repairs. - Method to recover the files from the SSD? When plugging the SSD from the laptop to another computer (via M.2 to USB converter), I get a security message saying that I cannot access the files.
Would much appreciate helpful pointers here on any of the above questions.
Thank you in advance!
