HP Spectre x360 13.5 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-ef2000 (771X1AV)

Hey! I was using my laptop regularly, and then left it (on) for a couple of minutes. When I came back, it was turned off completely, not even in sleep mode. As i tried to start it again, it wouldn’t work, despite several attempts. I tried connecting it to it’s power source, which didn’t work despite checking that the power source works (it charges the attached pen perfectly well), and none of the tips I’ve seen on this platform have worked either! When I press the power button, it lights up, but other than that there are no responses, not even when the power source is connected.

What do I do now? Nothing seems to be working, and I frankly find it odd that the laptop just stopped working out of nowhere.
PS - the laptop is new, only 3 months old!

Hi @ayamust,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your Laptop that is not powering on.

Follow the below steps to fix the issue.

-Perform a drain on your PC.

1) Unplug the power cord from the PC & wall.

2) Disconnect the power cable from the AC adapter if it is a detachable part and keep it aside.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the AC adapter, then connect it to the wall and to the charging port on your PC.

5) Power on the PC and check if it boots into Windows now.

-Try connecting an alternate charger which is compatible to confirm if there is an issue with the charger or try the same charger on another laptop that uses the same type of charging port.
