I have had the issue.

I started by semester break from school and didn't use it for a couple days unplugged. Then I tried turning it on and it will flicker on and off. A couple of times I have been able to have it stay on for a couple minutes but it will just go black and shut off.

My PC model is 13-ac023dx.

Hi @JayWor9

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the no boot issue.

Let's try these steps -

Step 1 Hard Reset -

1.) Shutdown the computer.
2.) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3.) Remove the Battery.

Note - This step is not applicable for built-in battery.
4.) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
5.) Plug-in the Adapter and put the Battery back into the computer.
6.) Try to turn on the computer.

Step 2 BIOS Defaults -

1.) Shutdown the computer.
2.) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.
3.) Press F10 once for BIOS.
4.) Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
5.) Press F10 to save and exit.

If the issue still persists, try testing the hardware -

1.) Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2.) Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3.) On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
4.) Click Extensive Test.

I tried to do all of those things and none of them solved the issue. It still keeps randomly going black and shutting down.

@JayWor9

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!
