hp star wars special edition HP Star Wars Special Edition 15-an051dx
Friend somehow managed to royaly corrupt the BIOS. Im assuming power off during bios update. Auto recovery didnt work. Screen will no longer come on, Caps lock flashes a 5,3 then goes to 3,2. So its *trying* to repair the bios but it cant find it.

Hi @Guildedsin,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all external devices and peripherals.
  • Unplug the power adapter from the notebook.
  • Remove the battery if it is removable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then attempt to start the notebook.

BIOS Recovery Using HP BIOS Recovery:

  • Prepare USB Recovery Disk: Use another computer to download the latest BIOS update from the HP Support site. Follow the instructions to create a BIOS recovery USB disk.
  • Enter BIOS Recovery Mode: With the notebook off, insert the USB disk, then press and hold the Windows + B keys together, followed by the power button for about 3 seconds. Release the power button but continue holding the Windows + B keys until you see the BIOS recovery screen.
  • Follow On-Screen Instructions: Follow the instructions to recover or update the BIOS using the USB disk.

Important Considerations

  • Attempting to flash BIOS incorrectly can further damage the system. It is recommended to proceed with caution and consider professional help if unsure.
  • Ensure the USB disk is correctly created and the files are properly loaded.

I hope this helps.

Hello, If you could please read my WHOLE post, that would be very helpful. I have performed ALL recovery steps UP TOO bios recovery, The hard drive was non functional so any "automated recovery" is gone. The HP support page DOES NOT HAVE ANY BIOS FILES FOR THIS LAPTOP. All support files/drivers/etc have been removed from the hp support page. I need the bios files.
