Hi @Kathy1977,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that the system is starting in Automatic Repair mode, and during diagnosis, it reports that the device ran into a problem and couldn’t be repaired. Since the restore and reset options are also failing, the issue could be related to either software (Windows corruption) or underlying hardware.

To determine the exact cause, we recommend running a full hardware diagnostic test to check the internal components of the notebook.

Please follow the steps below to run the Extensive Test:

  1. Hold the Power button for at least five seconds to completely turn off the computer.
  2. Turn the computer back on and immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (about once every second).
  3. When the Startup Menu appears, press the F2 key.
  4. This will open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI).
  5. On the main menu, click System Tests.
  6. Select Extensive Test and allow the test to run.

This test will check the memory, hard drive/SSD, processor, and other hardware components. If any issue is detected, the system will display a Failure ID code.

Please share the Failure ID code or the test results with us, and we will review them and guide you on the next steps to resolve the issue.

We look forward to your update so we can assist you further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
