HP EliteBook 865 16 inch G10 Notebook PC (70A96AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to use an USB startup key additional to TPM and PIN for my HP EliteBook 865 (BIOS up to date V82) as BitLocker protectors.
Thus I called in a admin shell:
    manage-bde -protectors -add C: -tpmandpin
and
    mange-bde -protectors -add C: -startupkey <Path to USB drive>
Actually the idea is that the USB startup key is connected to an USB docking station.
However, when rebooting the startup USB key seems not to be detected because the PIN is requested, even if the startup USB key is connected directly to the notebook.
When I press ESC several times I can finally search for USB keys in the WinRE preboot environment and then the key is detected and a message appears that the key is valid and that the notebook will be rebooted.
After reboot same procedure: The PIN is requested instead using the USB key.
I checked the BIOS for any security setting that might prevent reading the USB key but I did not find any.
With my former DELL notebook that worked flawlessly (when on docking station with USB key no PIN request but PIN request when undocked).
Did anybody get a startup USB key to work?
