HP Notebook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello.

For the past few months I've been dealing with strange system freezes that were manageable until now. The main way to initiate this freezing is to leave the notebook idle for about five minutes. No error message would pop up. Instead, Google Chrome would still attempt to load, hanging on "Waiting for Cache" for a minute. Then, programs would begin to freeze, eventually leading to a popup saying "Microsoft Windows is not responding." Strangely, I was able to fix this problem by unplugging the notebook charger and the freezing would stop and normal computer functions would resume. I could also leave the notebook idle for as long as I wanted so long as it was not charging, and it would not freeze.

Today, however, things got worse. I want to make it clear that no change in software or hardware led to this, and this new symptom was just seemingly random. Unplugging the notebook did not fix the problem this time, and instead led to more freezing and a blue screen declaring that Windows had run into a problem and needed to be restarted. This was the only time I have seen this message.

Now, the only way to have normal computer function is to totally restart the computer every time I want to use it again. Leaving it idle with the lid open or asleep with the lid closed will both initiate this strange freezing.

Any help would be appreciated. I am running a system scan right now.

@moria2 Perhaps, you should change the wall outlet or try with/without a surge protector since the issue occurs primarily when connected to the adapter, once you've done that and yet the issue persists, here's what I suggest you do:
