Microsoft Windows 11

Hi. My laptop was running very slow last night so I decided to force a shut down and tried booting it up again. When I shut it off using the power button, something made a sound, like a small “poof” and when I turned it back on again, it showed a black screen with the hp logo and now it’s just stuck there. In some cases I have been able to get to a blue screen with options on resetting the whole laptop but it asks me for a recovery key which I do not have (yes, I looked for it on my microsoft account…I only have the ID) so I can’t even reformat the laptop or use the other recovery methods because they just won’t work. If anyone can let me know what to do…I have homework to catch up on. Thanks.
