Hi @Scotty88,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Chromebook x360 14 is stuck on the startup screen, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
Force Restart:
- Press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds until the Chromebook turns off.
- Wait a few seconds, then press the Power button again to turn it back on.
Check for Updates:
- If it starts up after the restart, check for any available system updates. Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates.
Boot into Recovery Mode:
- If the Chromebook remains stuck, you can try to boot into Recovery Mode:
- Turn off your Chromebook.
- Press and hold the Esc + Refresh keys, then press the Power button.
- When the screen turns on, release the Esc + Refresh keys.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reset or recover the system.
Powerwash (Factory Reset):
- If you can get into the settings:
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings and select Powerwash.
- This will reset your Chromebook to factory settings, erasing all local data.
Check Hardware:
- If none of the above steps work, check the power adapter and ensure the Chromebook is charged.
- If you’re using any peripherals, try disconnecting them and then restarting the Chromebook.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
