Hey. I'm currently looking into an error code my grandfather got on his Hp pavilion g6 notebook PC(dont know if it is 32 or 64-bit).

When booting I get a blue screen where ut says I have an error code : 0xc0000225

an i tried to go and run a quick test and it gave me this message :

1000001210.jpg

Should I try to run a deep test that takes a couple of hours or is the pc gone?

He just want the picthures stored there, the computer will be destroyed since he got a new one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, Chris:

What I recommend you do is to remove the drive, purchase a SATA to USB cable.

Something like this:

Amazon.com: BENFEI SATA to USB Cable, USB 3.0 to SATA III Hard Driver Adapter Compatible for 2.5 inc...

Plug one end of the cable into the drive and the other end into a working PC's USB port and see if you can read/copy any files from the hard drive to the PC.

The more you run the drive, the worse the chances are that you will be able to recover any data from it, so I do not recommend proceeding to diagnose/run extensive tests.

Ok. Yeah, that was my next move, just thought I should ask here first since people here are super smart when it comes to pc's.

Thank you for taking the time to write back : )

Will order a cable asap
