Hello, just wondering if there is a way to troubleshoot an SSD controller. Just bought a used G3, installed 256g SSD drive, does not show. F2 Diagnostics shows no drive. When booting from USB to WIN10 OS, running DIskPart shows nothing. Any ideas would be great.

You're very welcome.
According to the parts list in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual, it uses a standard SATA M.2 2280 SSD.
HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G3 Maintenance and Service Guide
You can buy this model for less than $40.
Video memory is not removable. No doubt the problem would require a complete motherboard replacement according to the service manual.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well!

Hi:
What kind of M.2 SSD did you install?
The notebook only supports SATA M.2 SSD's, not NVMe.

Much appreciated. If you have the time I have a related question. When I bought the laptop I was told it had a drive installed, the BIOS/SYS Info page confirms that it "sees" a LITEON 256gb SSD drive. Tried loading an OS, installer say's no drive found. Removed bottom cover, SSD slot is blank, no drive. Any ideas why the BIOS/Sys Info would show a drive? Thx for the help.

Anytime.
I have heard of that situation from other forum members.
I don't know why that happens, but I guess occasionally it does.
My assumption is since that model drive was the last one installed, the BIOS retains the info because of the Windows boot manager, and the only way to get rid of it would be to somehow clear the boot manager info, and I don't know how to do that.
No doubt the info will be replaced by the new M.2 SATA SSD when you install it.
It was not erased when you installed the NVMe SSD, because that type drive is not recognized as even plugged in.

Hello, I appreciate all your help. The reason I am trying to get this G3 running is because my G1 is having video issues, assuming corrupt vid mem. Do you know if the memory is inside the monitor or on the motherboard. If it is in the monitor I will probably just change out the monitor and keep the G1. I have a feeling the non NVMe drive for the G3 is going to cost more than the laptop. Thx again for your help, I was a pleasure conversing with someone knowledgeable. Hope you a having a good Holiday season.
