Spectre x360 13-ap0006ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After BIOS update to F.32-06/28/2019 I'd got thermal shutdown without even starting fans (on heavy graphics load). Before that update (on F.27) there were no such issues.

How did you update the BIOS?

Thank you for your reply, of course I'd downgraded bios to F.27, and yes, F.32 disappeared from support site. I always search for updates using my device serial number.

I've download F.32 BIOS from here https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp98001-98500/sp98318.exe .

Now file disappeared.

Installation went OK.

Does BIOS installer has no device compatibility check?

@Alexander816,

Yes, the BIOS does have a device compatibility check and if the device is not compatible the BIOS update will not go through.

Hi, I am running into a similar issue. My HP 13-ap0xxx Spectre has asked me to update the BIOS at least once (possibly more times) in the past few months, this is happening right through the HP Support app's "Check for Updates" page so obviously i just go along with it.

Anyways device has been BSODing me at least once a week lately. Just checked and my current BIOS is F.32-06/28/2019 as well, even though HP software update page online for my model lists the most current BIOS as F.27 Rev.A like you said. I'm confused how the support assistant got me to update the BIOS or why when it appears this F.32 version is not compatible.

Anyways, should I downgrade to F.27 Rev A?

As for me - downgrading helps me (now I have BIOS F.27). Now all that thermal problems don't bother me any more
