The laptop will not boot and gives the thermal shutdown message. However it's just booting from a cold state so there is no actual overheating. At first it would get to the windows login / Hello screen. I hard shutdown, and now it wants to update the BIOS, but as soon as I hit "Apply Update Now", it shuts itself down.
I suspect the BIOS update might fix the problem but it seems to need to override the faulty thermal shutdown process.
I bought this as a high school grad and my 3-year care pack expired THREE weeks ago. Frustrating, please help!

Hi, @biwah7 take the laptop to a technician to clean the insides and apply a thermal paste for you.
You get that error when your laptop overheats. It shuts down to protect your motherboard otherwise the laptop will become difficult to use again.
