2019 Envy computer. Earlier in 2022, it started to show the BSOD very frequently. Had a computer tech look at it and do some of the recommended things. No improvement.
~90% BSODs - "Critical process died."
The computer showed no BSOD until it was about 30 months old in 2022. Then BSOD frequently until the battery died. I tried to get a battery from HP but it was not offered. Three attempts.
I bought a battery. When I turn on the computer now an HP message always says 'the battery is not an HP battery' and may not be able to fast charge. The dead HP battery had a thin aluminum cover on one side and the new battery does not.
The BSOD frequency was at first nil, then not often and is now very frequent again. I tried to purchase an HP battery earlier from HP for this late 2019 computer and could not. I saw a more recent price for an HP battery of $189 but I did not pursue it as I'm not sure what to do. (disappointed customer)
What is going on with the BSOD and possibly the battery?
