Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I hope you gyus can help me. I would like to install UEFI to my HP G6 Laptop. In the driver download section I can find an downloadable file which should enable UEFI (it installs a BIOS update program to a thumb drive or to HDD which has to get accessed via the HP diagnostic tool during startup). But when i want to update the BIOS via this tool, it can not find the correct BIOS file, so I can't update to an UEFI version.

(I tried it by following this link

How to install UEFI on Pavilion G6 1001tx - HP Support Community - 2757973)

I hope one of you can help me.

thanks a lot

this is the Error message that I get.

When I try to select the sub folders where the bios update should be,  then there's no file that I can select for an update.

HP makes their BIOS/UEFI update patches OS-version specific.  This thread was from 2013 -- and the OS at the time was Windows 8, not Windows 10.

I checked the HP site for your model and there is no such thread for Windows 10.

Hi, thanks for your reply. There's also such a version for windows 7, which I tried after installing windows 7.i even still have this hard drive here. But it also didn't work with the windows 7 version and windows 7 installed.

So you think it'll work sheet installing windows 8 and trying the windows 8 version again?

If you're convinced that it works then I'll invest a few more hours and give it a try. But since the windows 7 version not the windows 8 with windows 10 version didn't work I think that it could be another reason why it doesn't work? So you don't have any experience with it? Are there similar issues when trying to enable uefi to the bios from another laptop?

If i should try same again with windows 8, euch version (service pack) should I try?
