HP Pavilion Laptop PC 13-bb0000 (9WG35AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there, tried to power on laptop (HP Pavilion Laptop PC 13-bb0000 (9WG35AV)) getting black screen with fans spinning. Tried win + B and get the message "BIOs recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted" and suggest creating a BIOS USB recovery drive.

Attempted to download F.30 Rev.A (sp139193.exe) released on Mar 22, 2022. and keep getting "We can’t connect to the server at ftp.hp.com" on multiple computers on different networks. If anyone can provide me with the BIOS or alternate link to down the BIOS it would be appreciated as I have exams coming up and have files I need on the laptop. Thanks.

Kind regards,

Ted

Hi, Ted:

The file downloads fine for me.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the prompt reply. I've been using the same link and I get the server not found error. Using multiple browsers on my home internet and via my phone. Would you be able to attach the file?HP.jpg

You're very welcome.

The file is too large for me to attach, so what I did was to zip it, uploaded it to my Skydrive folder and shared the link to it with you below.

Download, unzip and run the file labeled sp139193.zip

Thanks for your help, managed to restore BIOS using the BIOS to create the USB. Even after a successful BIOS restore on reboot I'm still getting the black screen and reboot cycles. back to the drawing board.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Sorry that re-flashing the BIOS did not resolve the problem.
