Notebook P0U71EA#ABU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After a  restart as part of antivirus install, notebook reaches login screen but no user list shown or login window, user and password box not showing. The screen has the background ms photograph, time and date only. No idea how to login or get to safe mode.  Many thanks in advance. Help!

Here's how to get to SAFE mode in Win10:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode

Thank you for help, got to login screen in safe mode but password box frozen and not accepting any characters. Therefore not able to login in safe mode either.

I believe at the original restart when problem started, one antivirus was just uninstalling after I had installed a different software. A box popped up during shut down process, think something was running,  but shut down anyway was selected. ??? Help appreciated.

The anti virus I installed was Kaspersky. It never booted up on restart after this. Frozen!  I see a lot of forum issues a out this software and windows 10!!

Then sorry, you're in a tough position because if you can't even enter a password, there is no way to login to Windows, and without that, you can't do any in-place repairs to get Windows working again.

You could consider ordering HP Recovery Media to get your PC working again ... but it will reset it to its original state and you will lose everything in the process.
