HP Spectre x360 - 15-df1033dx
Microsoft Windows 11

I rebooted my HP Spectre since Xbox Live wasn't working, but it failed to reboot complaining of a BIOS corruption. This was strange since the computer was working fine other than the Xbox Live issue. The computer said:

"BIOS corruption has been detected. BIOS recovery will begin automatically when you restart your PC.

BIOS recovery will take several minutes.

Do not shut down or remove external power from your PC during this process."

Then, only like 10 seconds later, it said:

"The BIOS recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted.

Using another computer and a USB flash drive, download the latest BIOS file from the HP website and create a BIOS USB recovery drive for the PC that needs the recovery.

Insert the BIOS USB recovery drive into the PC that needs recovery and restart the PC.

To learn more about creating a USB recovery drive, go to the HP website

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833"

That link was a dud, so I did my own research.

I tried hard rebooting the computer, which didn't work. I also tried the Win+B/Win+V shortcuts to no avail.

Then, I tried creating a recovery drive by installing the latest BIOS installer from the HP software and drivers page for my ProdID. I plugged in a USB hard drive and ran the installer, which installed and ran a wizard. I selected "Create Recovery USB flash drive" and clicked "Next". However, the program simply does not recognize the USB hard drive despite it showing up in File Explorer. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but no matter what I did, refreshing didn't show any USB drive. Is there an alternate method or is my computer cooked because HP BIOS Update and Recovery can't detect a USB to flash to?
