HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae003na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi.  I'm struggling to update the BIOS on my HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae003na.

It's on Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit Version: 19043.1110, though I've not been able to update for a while, so not specific to this build. Currently on BIOS F.22 and have been trying F.25 (sp96313) and F.34 (sp111005), via the HP Support Assistant, via the HP website (letting it detect etc), and by running the extracted flash utilities directly (as administrator). Nothing happens...

I'm probably being stupid, but runing the spxxxxxx's creates the folder no probs, but when running the exe literally nothing happens. I don't see anything obvious in task manager, and I've suspended Bitlocker.

I'm actually having real problems with the sound, as it just stops working randomly and won't come back until a reboot, and not always then. Works fine with bluetooth devices, and usually with headphones - but not always. Knocks out speakers and mic - and almost like a physical dry-solder joint type issue. Want to upgrade BIOS first before going much further as have prob been through every combination of drivers and troubleshooting available for the sound...

Any ideas? Thanks.

Ignore me.  Windows update was showing an optional update for HP Firmware.  This worked fine and has taken it to F.31. Not sure why not F.34, and clicking that still does nothing, but at least the BIOS is newer than it was.  Sound still fubar though...
