Product: HP Notebook 15-ba015wm
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have hard rebooted several times. The last message I received is " unmountable boot volume" then the laptop goes into Preparing Automatic Repair. This screen stays up forever and doesn't seem to be doing anything. I have left it go for more than 8 Hours with no change in the screen. Any help would be appreciated

I reviewed the case regarding issues with the computer. I will be delighted to assist you here.  

 

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 😉 

 

Re-start the notebook, keep tapping F2, run an extensive test with the hard drive, and let me know the results.
