Hi @pradheep,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Unmountable boot volume" error on an HP laptop typically indicates that there is a problem with the laptop's hard drive or the file system on the drive. This error message can prevent the operating system from booting up properly, which can cause the laptop to keep restarting.

Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue.

  • Restart the laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix the issue.
  • Check for loose cables: If you recently opened up the laptop or moved it around, it's possible that one of the cables connecting the hard drive has become loose. Check that all the cables are securely plugged in.
  • Run a diagnostic test: HP laptops usually have a built-in diagnostic test that can check for hardware issues. To access it, restart the laptop and press F2 or F10 repeatedly during startup. Once you're in the diagnostic tool, run a hard drive test to see if there are any problems with the drive.
  • Use Windows Startup Repair: If the problem is with the file system, you may be able to fix it using the Windows Startup Repair tool. To access this tool, insert your Windows installation media (such as a DVD or USB drive) and boot from it. When prompted, choose the "Repair your computer" option and select "Startup Repair."
  • Reinstall Windows: If none of the above steps work, you may need to reinstall Windows. This will erase all your data, so be sure to back up your important files before proceeding.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,

I have the same problem. But then the diagnostic test of the SSD gives an error.
FOUT-ID: 910BUM-B2XBKA-MFPV5A-60DG03.
PRODUCTNAAM: 4C9M6EA#ABH

My laptop is 1 year old and I still have 12 months of warranty on it.
Can I open the laptop and check cables? Or do I need to send it in, because if I open it myself, I void my warranty?
I hope you can advise me on this.

Best regards,

WimvdG
